It fits most home chainsaws with a 14, 16, 18 or 20 inch bar that has the two small holes at the tip. Gas, electric or battery makes no difference: it works on the bar and the chain, not on the motor.

Slide it onto the tip of the bar so the pins go through the two holes, and adjust the second pin to your bar. Press the black lever to set the pink stone on the chain, run the saw for a few seconds, then let go. Two or three short passes are usually enough.

From Dull to Biting in Five Steps

What you do, in order, the first time you use it

Saw switched off. Slide the sharpener onto the tip of the bar, so the tip sits inside the yellow case.

The two steel pins go through the two holes at the tip of the bar. Adjust the second pin to your bar so it sits snug.

Press the black lever. It sets the pink stone down on the chain at the tip of the bar.
